What a breath of fresh air for a children's book! I loved EVERYTHING about this story, from the pride Penny felt in graduating and becoming an official Postal Penny, to the trepidation in journeying across the East River, and the immense joy in completing her first delivery. I felt like I was on the adventure with Penny myself! The illustrations are so beautiful, and really brought everything to life. This book made me remember how fun it was to have a penpal in school. I'm not sure there's anything better than finding a hand written letter in the mailbox. I cannot wait to read about Penny's next adventure, but for now, I've got a letter to write!
